Experience Requirements & Role Expectations
2-5 years of full-time experience as a product designer for digital or web-based products; in-house experience highly preferred.
Design intuitive, delightful, and high‑quality user interfaces, delivering thoughtful UI and interactions with attention to detail and craft.
Solid understanding of UX fundamentals, including user flows, interaction design, user research, usability, and accessibility.
Own design execution for a defined product area, working from early discovery through delivery with support and feedback from peers.
Partner closely with Product Managers to contribute to product direction. Translate user needs, product requirements, and constraints into clear, effective design solutions.
Comfortable working in cross‑functional teams with Product Managers, Engineers, and other designers.
Clear communication skills to explain design decisions, trade‑offs, and rationale.
A strong portfolio of work that demonstrates your design thinking, process, and solutions showcasing beautiful, user-centered web and mobile product design.
Candidate Must Have
Fluency in Japanese (written and verbal), with the ability to review, design, and critique product experiences in Japanese.
Deep familiarity with Japanese digital products and user behaviours, including common patterns in e‑commerce, travel, and mobile experiences.
Strong awareness of cultural nuances that influence user behaviour in Japan, such as tone, politeness, formality, and decision‑making patterns.
Ability to collaborate with Japan‑based stakeholders and incorporate local market insights, content, and requirements into design solutions.
Experience designing for Japanese users, with an understanding of local expectations around clarity, information density, trust signals, and visual hierarchy.
Experience working for an Online Travel Agency or Consumer‑facing products.
What You Can Expect Day to Day
Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, Designers and other partners to align on scope, requirements, priorities, and delivery timelines.
Design end‑to‑end product experiences, from early exploration to high‑fidelity designs.
Test ideas, prototypes, and hypotheses with users to gather actionable feedback and iterate on solutions.
Present and share your work with peers and stakeholders, both asynchronously and in person.
Continuously improve your craft through feedback, iteration, and learning.
