The practice is instructed on complex, high-value international disputes and requires a lawyer able to take responsibility for written and oral advocacy on fast-moving matters. The role is designed for litigators seeking sustained exposure to contested proceedings and meaningful courtroom responsibility, rather than a short-term or lifestyle-driven offshore move.

Scope of work includes:

  • Regular involvement in urgent and contested interim applications
  • Drafting pleadings, evidence, applications and written submissions
  • Conducting oral advocacy before the BVI Commercial Court and appellate courts
  • Providing advocacy cover and senior support on complex matters
  • Working closely with partners on litigation strategy, evidence and case management

Candidate profile:

  • 5 to 12 years’ post-qualification experience
  • Admitted barrister in England and Wales or the BVI, or England and Wales solicitor advocate with substantial contentious experience
  • Strong, demonstrable experience of conducting written and oral advocacy
  • Proven track record in fast-paced, high-stakes commercial litigation
  • Experience of interim remedies, insolvency or asset-related disputes preferred
  • Offshore or British Overseas Territory litigation experience advantageous
  • willing and able to be based full-time in the British Virgin Islands

Practising in the BVI offers experienced litigators a high degree of court exposure and responsibility at senior associate level, with regular involvement in complex disputes before a specialist commercial court and appellate tribunals.
