An outstanding opportunity exists for a senior regulatory lawyer to join the Cayman Islands office of a leading global law firm as a partner within its highly regarded regulatory and financial services practice. Working with an established client base of major asset managers, investment funds, financial institutions, banks, administrators, family offices and high-net-worth individuals, the successful candidate will advise on a full range of Cayman Islands regulatory matters, including AML/CFT, FATCA, CRS, SIBA, Economic Substance, Data Protection, Beneficial Ownership, OECD BEPS initiatives and digital assets regulation.
The role will also involve extensive interaction with regulatory authorities, strategic business development, client relationship management, and team leadership responsibilities.
Key requirements:
- 10+ years’ post-qualification experience with significant expertise advising on Cayman Islands regulatory law.
- Admission in a recognised Commonwealth jurisdiction.
- Proven track record at partner or senior counsel level within a leading international law firm or in-house regulatory counsel role.
- Broad experience advising clients on financial services regulation, compliance and associated legal frameworks.
- Excellent leadership, team management and mentoring skills.
- Strong technical, commercial, and client-facing abilities.
- Exposure to BVI regulatory matters would be advantageous.
