A leading offshore law firm is seeking an experienced associate to join its Insolvency and Dispute Resolution practice in London, advising on BVI and Cayman Islands law. This is a London-based position within a market-leading offshore disputes team, working closely with senior practitioners on complex, high-value contentious matters.

The practice advises on a broad range of financial services and commercial disputes, frequently involving multiple jurisdictions. Work includes contentious insolvency and restructuring matters, shareholder and corporate disputes, trust litigation, commercial litigation and ADR, regulatory investigations and asset recovery. Matters are often international in scope and involve direct interaction with offshore and onshore clients, intermediaries and co-counsel.

Associates are expected to deliver technically robust and commercially grounded advice, support senior colleagues across the disputes practice and collaborate closely with corporate, funds and private capital teams on advisory matters arising out of transactions. There is also scope to contribute to client relationship development, knowledge initiatives and internal training programmes within a well-established offshore litigation platform.

Candidate Profile

  • Qualified lawyer with approximately 5 to 7 years’ PQE
  • Strong background in insolvency, commercial litigation and or trust disputes
  • Experience gained in a recognised onshore or offshore practice
  • Offshore disputes experience preferred but not essential
  • Excellent academics and strong technical capability
  • Confident analysing legislation and case law and applying it commercially
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Commercially minded and motivated to contribute to practice growth
  • Collaborative team player comfortable working across disciplines
