A well-established offshore practice is seeking a highly experienced Counsel to join its Corporate, Finance, Funds and Regulatory team in the British Virgin Islands. This senior role offers significant responsibility across complex cross-border transactional matters and provides a clear pathway to partnership for the right individual.
The successful candidate will advise on a wide range of corporate, regulatory, banking and finance work, while additional experience in investment funds or digital assets will be viewed favourably. Applicants must bring strong technical capability, sound judgement and the commercial awareness required to support an ambitious, growing team.
Key Responsibilities:- Advise on complex corporate, regulatory, banking and finance transactions
- Draft and implement instructions with accuracy and attention to detail
- Develop pragmatic, commercial solutions to client challenges
- Manage cross-jurisdictional matters in collaboration with colleagues globally
- Balance independent matter management with a collaborative team approach
- Monitor WIP and billings against budgets and agreed arrangements
- Contribute to know-how, precedents and internal knowledge development
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, supporting wider practice growth
- Participate in thought leadership, BD initiatives and cross-selling opportunities
- Mentor, train and support junior team members to drive team capability
- UK qualified lawyer with a minimum of 8 years' PQE
- Significant experience in corporate and banking & finance matters
- Preferably with exposure to investment funds or digital assets
- Prior offshore experience essential
- Strong drafting, analytical and communication skills
- Confident managing complex matters and supervising juniors
- Commercial mindset with strong relationship-building ability
