A leading international arbitration boutique is seeking a Mid to Senior Level Associate based in London to join its practice. This role is strictly for lawyers currently practising in London, with elite UK private practice training. England & Wales qualification is strongly preferred, and the role will suit an associate from a top-tier City or international firm looking for greater responsibility and deeper exposure within a specialist arbitration environment.

The practice acts for corporates, sovereigns and investors on high-value international disputes, with a particular focus on infrastructure, energy and major projects.

The Role

  • Work closely with senior practitioners across all stages of complex international arbitrations, including:
  • Developing case strategy on major construction and infrastructure disputes
  • Drafting high-quality written submissions and supervising junior team members
  • Managing research, evidence and document production
  • Preparing witness and expert evidence, including delay and quantum issues
  • Liaising directly with clients, experts, tribunals and opposing counsel
  • Supporting partners on business development and thought leadership

Candidate Profile

  • 3–6 years' PQE, with current London-based practice
  • England & Wales qualified (strongly preferred)
  • Trained at a top-tier UK or international firm with a recognised arbitration practice
  • Solid experience in international arbitration or cross-border disputes, ideally in construction, engineering or energy
  • Excellent academics and strong written advocacy
  • Comfortable with arbitral procedure and related court applications
  • Additional languages welcomed but not essential

The Opportunity

This is a rare chance to join a pure-play international arbitration boutique at the top end of the market. The environment is lean and demanding, with responsibility driven by ability rather than hierarchy. Associates gain direct partner access, genuine client exposure and early involvement on flagship matters.
