Overview
An outstanding opportunity exists for an accomplished regulatory lawyer to join the Cayman Islands office of a top-tier offshore firm as a partner within its highly regarded Regulatory & Financial Services practice. This is a rare senior-level opening offering significant autonomy, premier client exposure and a clear platform to lead and grow within one of the market’s most respected teams.
Responsibilities
Work with an established client base of leading asset managers, investment funds, financial institutions, banks, administrators, family offices and high-net-worth individuals. Advise on the full spectrum of Cayman Islands regulatory matters, including AML/CFT, FATCA, CRS, SIBA, Economic Substance, Data Protection, Beneficial Ownership, OECD BEPS initiatives and digital assets regulation. The role will also involve close interaction with regulators, strategic business development, client relationship management, and leadership responsibilities within the practice.
Qualifications & Requirements
- 10+ years’ PQE with significant expertise in Cayman Islands regulatory law.
- Admission in a recognised Commonwealth jurisdiction.
- A proven record at partner or senior counsel level in a leading law firm or senior in-house regulatory counsel role.
- Broad experience advising clients across financial services regulation, compliance and related legal frameworks.
- Strong leadership, team management and mentoring skills.
- Excellent technical, commercial and client-handling abilities.
- Exposure to BVI regulatory matters would be advantageous.
