A compelling opportunity has arisen for an England & Wales qualified Barrister to join a highly regarded offshore disputes practice in the British Virgin Islands. This role will suit an advocate sitting between 2-5 years PQE seeking a genuinely hands-on litigation position within a sophisticated offshore environment.
The practice advises on complex commercial disputes, shareholder and corporate litigation, insolvency and asset recovery matters, frequently involving multi-jurisdictional coordination with UK, US and Asian counsel.
The successful candidate will:
- Provide technically sound advice directly to clients with appropriate supervision
- Support senior lawyers on substantial contentious matters
- Deliver against chargeable hour targets and manage WIP in line with firm standards
- Contribute to fee estimates and maintain clear communication on costs
- Develop commercial awareness and assist in identifying new instructions
- Support the supervision and development of junior lawyers and interns
Applicants should demonstrate:
- England & Wales admission as a Barrister or Solicitor Advocate
- An excellent academic pedigree
- Experience gained within leading commercial or chancery chambers, or a top-tier disputes practice
- Robust drafting skills and confident written and oral advocacy
- The maturity to manage client relationships in a commercial setting
