A well-established offshore law firm is seeking a talented lawyer to join its expanding Finance team in London, advising on the laws of Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands, and the Cayman Islands. The group works closely with leading international financial institutions, private equity sponsors, arrangers, and borrowers on complex cross-border transactions, including leveraged and acquisition finance, structured finance, and fund finance. The successful candidate will work alongside market-leading practitioners in London and across the firm’s global network, providing high-quality, responsive advice on a range of sophisticated financing matters. This position offers significant exposure to high-value international work and the opportunity to play an active role in developing the London practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on a wide range of banking and finance matters, including corporate lending, leveraged finance, fund finance, and capital markets.
- Support senior lawyers and partners on complex transactions while managing smaller matters independently.
- Contribute to client relationship development and participate in business development initiatives.
- Maintain high professional standards in drafting, negotiation, and client delivery.
- Share knowledge and contribute to training, know-how, and practice development within the Finance group.
Requirements
- Qualified lawyer with approximately 3–7 years’ PQE, gained at a leading onshore or offshore law firm.
- Strong technical knowledge of finance law and market practice, with proven experience advising lenders and borrowers.
- Excellent drafting, communication, and analytical skills.
- Commercial mindset, proactive attitude, and ability to build trusted relationships with clients.
- Previous offshore or cross-border finance experience advantageous, though not essential.
