Technical Product Owner – Capital Markets / FRTB

The Opportunity
We are working with a leading London-based consultancy that is looking for a Technical Product Owner with strong Capital Markets / FRTB experience to join their growing team.
This is a hands-on delivery-focused role, working closely with clients, developers, architects and wider delivery teams to translate complex business and regulatory requirements into effective technology solutions.
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Capital Markets and FRTB, combined with the technical capability to work closely with engineering teams and confidently operate across the full delivery lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and drive product delivery across Capital Markets / FRTB initiatives.
- Work closely with clients and stakeholders to understand business, regulatory and technology requirements.
- Translate requirements into clear user stories, acceptance criteria and actionable delivery items.
- Manage and prioritise product backlogs.
- Work closely with developers, architects and technical teams throughout delivery.
- Support solution design, data flows and technical requirements.
- Challenge and validate proposed technical solutions where appropriate.
- Coordinate delivery across business and technology stakeholders.
- Ensure solutions meet regulatory, business and technical requirements.
- Contribute to Agile ceremonies and continuous improvement.
Key Experience
- Proven experience as a Product Owner, Technical Product Owner, Senior Business Analyst or similar within Capital Markets.
- Strong experience working with FRTB (Fundamental Review of the Trading Book).
- Experience delivering technology change within Market Risk / Investment Banking / Trading environments.
- Strong SQL skills and confidence working with data.
- Experience with MongoDB / NoSQL technologies would be highly desirable.
- Demonstrable experience working closely with software engineering and technical delivery teams.
- Strong understanding of Agile delivery, user stories, requirements and product backlogs.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Consultancy experience would be advantageous.
