Role Summary
We are now looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Removals Operative & Trainee Driver to join our growing team based in Potters Bar, who is looking for a new career challenge within the removals industry. Removals Operative & Trainee Driver will be responsible for moving and handling customers household and personal possessions, whilst undertaking the HGV Driver Training programme to obtain a Class 2 HGV licence.
Key Responsibilities
- Initially undertake and learn the role of a Removals Operative by shadowing current Drivers and Senior Drivers to secure knowledge of the role, routes and build confidence.
- Interacting and communicating effectively with our Customers and Colleagues in the movement of goods across UK and Europe.
- Providing assistance in the moving and handling of customer goods, including van driving to and from location (long and short distances) across the UK and Europe.
- Packing and wrapping customer goods before manually and physically lifting (aided and unaided) onto vehicles or into location.
- Completing the necessary on the job paperwork to a high standard.
- Following H&S Guidelines and carrying out Banks-person duties.
- Begin to learn the full role of a Removals Operative whilst undertaking HGV Driver Training.
Essential Qualifications
- Full UK drivers’ licence (no more than 3 points).
- Excellent customer service and organisational skills.
- Experience in light commercial or delivery driving.
Desirable Qualifications
- Previous removals experience.
- Multilingual skills.
- Valid Passport (for potential European travel).
Benefits
- Competitive salary: ÂŁ36,556 per annum (Rising upon the completion of the HGV Driver Training Programme).
- Overtime available.
- Normal days of work: Monday to Friday. Hours – 47.5 hours per week (weekdays) times can vary depending on the job and can finish late on occasion.
- Nights away and occasional weekends at increased rates when required.
- Based out of the Potters Bar depot.
- Permanent, full-time.
- 25 days holiday + 8 bank holiday.
