Responsibilities involve producing installation programmes that align with fabrication and installation requirements, as well as client deadlines or contracted dates. Keeping up to date with current project positions and providing weekly reports to the Installation Manager is essential.

You will be responsible for taking reasonable care of your own and others’ health and safety, including supporting the Health and Safety Manager in producing project-specific RAMS and managing install teams to ensure they are followed on site. Producing regular reports and working closely with clients and Polar management to resolve all site issues and snagging efficiently before the contract end date is expected. Liaising with clients to ensure smooth handover of completed works and final sign-off is also part of the role.

It is important to ensure the QITP process is followed, and sheets are completed during installation, signed off by the install team, checked by the Project Manager, and signed off by the client. You will need to ensure all variations to contract are identified, captured, and issued to the sales and estimating department.

Managing any project delay notices and financial implications associated with them, keeping a log of communications to support Polar’s best interests (working with contract manager/commercial manager) is required. Assisting with building monthly applications and invoices to clients in line with works carried out is also part of the job.

Negotiating and agreeing costs for subcontractor labour, including raising purchase orders and agreeing monthly valuations for completed works against budget is necessary. Attending client meetings to support the project team regarding site issues, financial implications, or any contractual agreements is expected.

Participating in weekly meetings and daily huddles as part of the installation team is also part of the role.
