Interpret client’s requirements from drawings and generate take-off and Bill of Quantities for pricing.
Identify Sub-Contract packages and prepare Sub-Contract enquiries. Review Sub-Contract quotations and identify optimal package.
Liaise with Senior Materials/Plant Buyer to obtain current market rates.
Price BOQ using current rates and knowledge of resource outputs and industry best practice.
Work with team members to assemble necessary documentation; H&S input, Tender Programme, etc.
Adjudicate tender with Managing Director, Contracts Director, and Senior Estimator.
Prepare submission documents and issue in accordance with Tender Deadlines.
Handle post-tender enquiries from client/architect.
CONTRACT ADMINISTRATION AND QUANTITY SURVEYING
Responsibilities:
Receive and process client orders.
Manage the signing of contract documents where required.
Prepare interim valuations in liaison with Senior Estimator/QS.
Manage contract variations and prepare quotations and rate breakdowns as required.
Place and manage Sub-Contract Orders.
Negotiate with client QS to resolve financial issues when necessary.
Liaise with Financial Director and Senior Estimator/QS in preparing cost forecasts.
ADDITIONAL ROLES
Be prepared to:
Provide support to Site Managers and Contract Director as necessary.
Maintain overview of company operations throughout the UK and assist in coordination of sites.
Maintain a flexible approach to workload and be able to re-prioritize to meet the needs of a dynamic workplace.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
MS Excel, MS Word, Outlook (email), One-Drive Cloud based storage, Internet use.
Knowledge of:
Autodesk Design Review/Autocad.
Civil Engineering Best Practices.
Strong:
Numeracy and literacy skills.
Team player as well as able to work on own initiative.
Willingness to travel to sites across the UK to manage engagement with operations.
UK Driving Licence.
