Role Description
The Associate Podiatrist will provide on-site podiatry services at AGM Centre in St Albans, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of a wide range of foot and lower limb conditions.
Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting clinical examinations, developing treatment plans, prescribing and reviewing orthotic devices, and managing biomechanical and musculoskeletal issues.
The role involves ongoing care for individuals with chronic conditions such as diabetes, including routine foot screenings, risk assessments, and patient education on prevention and self-care.
The Associate Podiatrist will document clinical findings accurately, work closely with other healthcare professionals, and participate in quality improvement activities.
This is a full-time, on-site clinical role that requires a strong commitment to patient safety, evidence-based practice, and professional integrity.
Qualifications
- Clinical expertise in Podiatry and Medicine, with the ability to assess, diagnose, and manage diverse foot and lower limb conditions.
- Strong knowledge of Biomechanics and Orthotics, including gait analysis, musculoskeletal assessment, and prescription of appropriate devices.
- Experience in managing Diabetes-related foot complications, including screening, risk stratification, and preventive care.
- Recognized qualification in Podiatry (e. g., degree-level or equivalent) and current registration with the relevant professional/regulatory body.
- Sound understanding of infection prevention, clinical governance, and evidence-based practice.
- Clear, professional communication skills and the ability to explain treatment plans and preventive strategies to patients and families.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team and manage a varied caseload effectively.
- Prior experience in a clinical podiatry setting is preferred; ongoing commitment to continuing professional development is expected.
