About the role

We are developing an AI portfolio management app and are looking for a Frontend Mobile App Developer specialising in React Native. You will play a crucial role in building and maintaining our mobile application, working closely with our UI/UX Designer, Product Manager, and backend team. This role involves developing, maintaining, and deploying cross-platform mobile applications, as well as contributing to the backend infrastructure that supports them. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of both front-end and back-end development principles, with a focus on delivering high-quality, performant, and user-friendly mobile experiences.

Timescales

There is an initial 4-6 weeks of full-time, on-site work, and thereafter, support for the launched app is required. This will likely be 2-3 days per week initially. Depending on feedback, scaling and new features will likely need to be added at some point, and there is a high chance this will turn into a full-time contract again, or even a permanent role. We understand this is a slightly different arrangement, and we are open to speaking to anyone who has the skills and experience required and can fit this around other potential freelance contracts they might have.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of a cross-platform mobile application using React Native.
• Translate UI/UX designs into functional, high-performance mobile applications.
• Integrate with backend APIs and manage application state.
• Ensure timely delivery of a high-quality product.
• Provide technical leadership as needed.

Required Skills and Experience

• 5+ years of professional mobile development experience.
• Expert-level proficiency in React Native.
• Proven track record of taking mobile products to launch.
• Strong understanding of mobile UI/UX principles.
• Ability to work independently and deliver within tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Key Requirements

• FinTech background (preferred).
• Senior-level React Native expertise.
• Worked on Brownfield application projects previously.
