We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Class Teacher & SENCO to join our team and support learners with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. This is more than a teaching role. You will have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships, inspire a love of learning and help young people overcome barriers, develop resilience and achieve their potential in a safe, nurturing and therapeutic environment.
The Role:
- Working as part of our dedicated education team, you will plan and deliver engaging, creative and personalised learning experiences that meet the individual needs of our pupils.
- You will adapt your teaching to support a range of SEMH, SEND and neurodiverse needs, helping learners develop their knowledge, confidence, independence and readiness to learn.
- Through consistent routines, positive relationships and trauma-informed practice, you will create an environment where pupils feel safe, supported and able to make progress.
- You will work closely with teaching assistants, therapeutic staff, families and external professionals to ensure pupils receive the support they need to achieve positive academic, social and personal outcomes.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Planning and delivering engaging, well-structured and differentiated lessons that meet individual learning needs.
- Assessing, monitoring and recording pupil progress, adapting teaching and interventions to support achievement.
- Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils and supporting the development of resilience, independence and emotional wellbeing.
- Using relational, trauma-informed and restorative approaches to support emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
- Establishing calm, consistent classroom routines and creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
- Implementing individual support plans, behaviour strategies, risk assessments and therapeutic recommendations.
- Working collaboratively with teaching assistants and support staff to promote engagement and maximise learning opportunities.
- Supporting pupils to overcome barriers to education, repair relationships and re-engage with learning.
- Contributing to EHCP reviews, annual reviews, reports, multi-agency meetings and individual support planning.
- Promoting safeguarding and pupil wellbeing, ensuring concerns are reported promptly in line with school policies.
About You:
- A qualified teacher holding QTS, QTLS, Cert Ed or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Passionate about delivering engaging, inclusive and high-quality teaching.
- Experienced in adapting learning to meet a range of SEMH, SEND and neurodiverse needs.
- Confident in managing challenging situations with patience, compassion and consistency.
- Knowledgeable about trauma-informed practice, emotional regulation and positive behaviour support.
- Committed to safeguarding, inclusion and promoting the wellbeing of children and young people.
- A strong team player who communicates effectively with colleagues, families and external professionals.
Why Join Alls Well School?
- The opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the lives and futures of young people.
- A supportive and collaborative working environment.
- Opportunities to develop specialist knowledge in SEMH, SEND and trauma-informed practice.
- Ongoing training, coaching and professional development.
- The chance to work alongside education, pastoral and therapeutic professionals.
