We are looking for a compassionate, patient, and reliable Care and Support Assistant to provide dedicated support to one gentleman with autism. This role is primarily focused on building a trusting relationship with him, understanding his individual needs, and helping him to live a fulfilling, independent life. A key aspect of this role is developing and maintaining a positive, professional relationship with his family. You will liaise regularly with family members, communicating effectively, sharing relevant updates, and working collaboratively to ensure a consistent, person-centred approach that meets his needs and promotes his wellbeing. While your main responsibility will be supporting this individual, you will also be expected to provide care and support to other service users within the service as required. This includes promoting independence, assisting with daily living activities, supporting social and community engagement, and ensuring the wellbeing, dignity, and individual choices of everyone you support.

The Role of a Home Carer

  • Supporting people with their daily routines, including household tasks and personal care
  • Helping with shopping, preparing nutritious meals, and making a comforting cup of tea
  • Providing companionship, a listening ear, and friendly conversation
  • Helping with medication

About you

You’ll bring:

  • Strong people skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships
  • A supportive, professional, and team-focused mindset
  • A minimum of 12 months remaining on your right to work in the UK (please note we are currently unable to offer sponsorship)
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Flexibility to work alternating weekends
