This role as a Support Worker & Transport Driver at Enable in Rochester involves making a meaningful difference in the lives of young individuals with complex support needs. Main duties of the job
- Offering encouragement, support, communication, and engagement to the individuals we support, helping them to be active in their communities and enhance their quality of life.
- Keeping accurate records and working as part of a team.
Job responsibilities
- Encouraging people to play active roles in the communities in which they live, to encourage independence.
- Supporting activities of daily living including social activities, personal care, routines, planning and preparation of meals and budgeting.
- Communicating effectively using people’s chosen methods.
- Engaging – promoting and motivating people we support to enhance their quality of life.
- Specialising – supporting people who may need positive behavioural support approaches.
- Recording – keeping accurate records and reporting changes in health or circumstances of service users to management.
- Team player – working as part of a team, as well as being able to work using your own initiative.
What is required from you?
- A full UK driving licence.
- Previous experience in a similar role is desirable.
- Previous experience working with adults with complex learning disabilities and healthcare needs, or any related personal experience, background or qualifications.
- The ability to work cooperatively and professionally with colleagues, service users and others.
- A caring, patient and reliable nature.
- 12 months on your legal Right to Work.
- Working 20hrs a week, shift pattern 8am – 5pm.
