You will be working at Victory Care Home, Chatham (CQC rating: 1 – “Good”).

What is required from you?

  • A minimum of 12 months to prove your right to work in the UK.
  • Qualified to at least NVQ Level2, and achieved or working towards NVQ Level3 (or equivalent).
  • At least two years’ experience working in a social care environment – preferably with vulnerable people aged over 65.
  • Good demonstrable knowledge and experience of dementia.
  • Excellent communication skills and a real ability to show empathy to people under your care.
  • Night Shift – 8pm to 8am, including alternative weekends.
  • A day in the life of a Senior Care Assistant
  • Person‑centred care – ensure residents receive personal care (bathing, dressing, oral care) within their preferences and actively promote right to choice and independence.
  • Care reviews – contribute to and carry out care reviews with residents to ensure their plans reflect their needs.
  • Medication – administer residents' medication safely, supportively and compliantly.
  • Social activity – lead or participate in trips out, social engagements and activities within the home.
  • Leadership – support new starters or existing staff with shadowing and development, and may be called upon to lead the home where the senior manager is absent.
