Where you'll be working

Care home location: Blenheim Care Home, Bournemouth

Responsibilities

  • Menu planning — Collaborating with the home manager and residents' requests to develop and implement menu ideas. The homes have themed days and events to showcase skills and creativity.
  • Understanding dietary needs — Work with the wider staff to ensure residents' nutritional and dietary needs are met, including modified textures and allergies.
  • Kitchen management — Be the main point of contact for the kitchen and be responsible for day-to-day running, stock management, and hygiene standards.

Qualifications and requirements

  • A minimum of 12 months on your right to work.
  • Background within kitchens and an understanding of how to run a professional kitchen.
  • Knowledge of the IDDSI framework or supporting complex dietary requirements is desirable.
  • Previous professional experience as a cook is required for this role.
  • Bank Cook to cover a mix of shifts as and when required.
