Are you ready to make a real difference in someone’s life?

Are you ready to take the lead and make a real difference in people’s lives? We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Support Worker to join our Dorset Outreach team, helping to oversee and deliver high-quality support across multiple locations in North Dorset. You will report into the Deputy Manager, splitting your time between hands-on support and leadership/administrative tasks to ensure our service runs smoothly. This is a varied and rewarding role with plenty of opportunity to make an impact.

About the people you’ll be supporting: You’ll work across four different support packages, each for an individual with learning disabilities and/or autism. Each person has unique needs, preferences, and routines. Some enjoy active community days out, others prefer quieter home-based activities. Your role will be to help them live safe, happy, and meaningful lives, whilst ensuring their care is consistent, person-centred, and of the highest quality.

Where you’ll be working: You’ll be working across Shaftesbury, Gillingham, and Sturminster Newton, spending time in people’s homes, and out in the community. This is a full-time role where your week will be split between providing direct support on shift and also completing leadership and administrative tasks. Travel between locations is an essential part of the job, and mileage will be paid.

What you’ll get with Agincare:

  • Up To £13.50 per hour
  • Refer a friend bonus – earn up to £500
  • 35p per mile
  • Fully funded training and apprenticeships
  • Blue Light Card (discounts in shops and restaurants)
  • Company pension
  • Employee Assistance Programme (24/7 advice and wellbeing support)

What is required from you:

  • Full-time availability and flexibility to work across different packages
  • Proven experience in a senior support or team leader role
  • Confident in supporting people with learning disabilities, autism, and complex needs
  • Full UK driving licence and own car (essential)
  • Good organisational skills and IT competence (Microsoft Office, care records)
  • Level 2 Health and Social Care qualification (minimum) — ideally Level 3 or working towards it

A day in the life of a Senior Support Worker:

  • Check in with teams across the service, ensuring shifts are running smoothly and everyone has what they need
  • Provide hands-on support, including personal care, meal preparation, and community activities
  • Review and update care plans, risk assessments, and other documentation
  • Liaise with families, professionals, and external agencies as needed
  • Mentor and guide new or existing staff, offering feedback and support
  • Step in to lead shifts where required to maintain quality and consistency of care
