Are you ready to make a meaningful impact in people's lives? We're looking for an experienced, confident and values-led Registered Manager to lead our brand-new service at Elizabeth Close in Oldland Common. This bespoke supported living scheme will support adults with learning disabilities, autism and complex needs as they move out of specialist hospitals or secure environments and take their next steps towards living safely and independently in the community.
This is a rare opportunity to shape an entire service from the ground up, build a strong and resilient team, and lead a specialist pathway designed for individuals with complex needs.
About Oldland Common: Oldland Common is a newly built development offering six self-contained homes for adults aged 18 and over. The service is designed for people with high levels of complexity, including behaviours that challenge, communication differences, autism, learning disabilities, mental health needs and, in some cases, forensic histories. Our aim is to support people to resettle successfully into the community, develop independence, build meaningful routines and live safe, fulfilling lives. Support is typically delivered on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis, depending on the needs of each individual.
About the role: As the Registered Manager, you'll provide clear leadership, operational oversight and direction to ensure the service delivers safe, structured and person-centred support. You'll work closely with multi-agency professionals, manage risk robustly and create a healthy, positive culture where staff are supported and individuals can thrive.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the operational management of the Oldland Common service
- Ensuring compliance with CQC regulations, contractual requirements and internal governance
- Embedding Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) across the service
- Assisting with recruitment, induction, training and ongoing workforce development
- Leading assessments, risk management and support planning
- Building strong, proactive partnerships with social care teams and MDTs
- Supporting staff wellbeing through supervision, reflective practice and consistent leadership
- Ensuring high-quality record keeping, incident management and safeguarding practice
- Maintaining a safe, structured and supportive environment for both residents and staff
This is a full-time role of 40 hours per week, offering up to £45,000 per annum. Shifts may include occasional evenings, weekends or on-call duties depending on service need.
What we're looking for: To ensure the right leadership for this complex and specialist service, applicants must have:
- Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities and/or autism
- Experience working with behaviours that challenge or complex risks
- Experience managing or leading services within social care or supported living
- A Level 3 qualification in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), or a willingness to work towards this as part of the role
We're also looking for:
- A calm, confident and resilient approach to leadership
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships
- Confidence overseeing complex support plans, risk assessments and MDT collaboration
- Ability to promote strong team culture, consistent practice and safe working
- A proactive, organised and solution-focused mindset
- High standards around quality, safeguarding and compliance
- A Full UK Driving Licence
Why join us? You'll be joining a values-led organisation at the very start of an exciting new service. As Registered Manager at Oldland Common, you'll play a central role in supporting people to safely transition from hospital and rebuild happier, more independent lives in the community.
We offer:
- Up to £45,000 per annum
- Company pension
- Refer-a-friend bonus (earn up to £1,000)
- Full training, including Positive Behaviour Support
- Opportunities for professional development and progression
- Blue Light Card (discounts in shops and restaurants)
- A caring, collaborative culture where every voice matters
- Job security, flexibility and ongoing support
