I’m currently recruiting for a Junior Buyer to join an established purchasing team in a varied and commercially focused role. This opportunity would be particularly suitable for a recent graduate looking to begin a career in purchasing, procurement or supply chain. Degrees in Business, Economics, Finance, Supply Chain, Engineering or a similar analytical subject would be particularly relevant, although other degree backgrounds will also be considered.
The role will include:
- Raising and managing purchase orders
- Liaising with suppliers and monitoring delivery dates
- Expediting orders to ensure materials arrive on time
- Obtaining and comparing supplier quotations
- Working closely with Production, Planning, Stores, Quality and Finance
- Maintaining accurate purchasing information on ERP/MRP systems
- Monitoring supplier performance
- Supporting cost-saving and alternative sourcing initiatives
