Are you a qualified Finance professional looking to step into a high-impact role where you can truly make your mark? Do you thrive in a fast-paced, project-driven environment? My client based on the outskirts of Carlisle are looking for a hands-on Finance Manager to join the team to help drive financial performance from the ground up. Operating in the Construction Industry they have over 50 years experience trading with clients across the North of England.

About the role: Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will take ownership of the full suite of management accounts and play a pivotal role in delivering accurate, insightful financial reporting that supports operational and strategic decision-making. You will also lead and develop a small, capable finance team, bringing leadership, structure, and a proactive mindset to the function.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and reviewing monthly management accounts and reporting packs
  • Overseeing budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Supporting the year-end audit process and liaising with external auditors
  • Ensuring compliance with financial controls and processes
  • Cash flow management and project reporting
  • Coaching and developing a small finance team

You will be:

  • Fully qualified CIMA or ACCA
  • Strong experience in producing management accounts, ideally within construction or a project-based industry
  • Confident team leader who enjoys mentoring and developing others
