Senior Legal Cashier

Due to continued growth, a vacancy has arisen for an experienced Legal Cashier with an industry-leading Liverpool-based law firm.

As an experienced Cashier, you will help other legal cashiers in the team to ensure the smooth and effective running of the department. You will be the focal contact for billing and client ledger queries, ensuring the firm\’s financial transactions are accurate and in accordance with Solicitors Accounts Rules.

What you will be doing:

1. Liaising with file handling departments regarding accounting transactions and dealing with any queries that may arise in a timely manner.
2. Assisting in the processing of client and office account transactions, with reference to billing.
3. Providing guidance to team members as necessary and acting as point of contact for any complex queries.
4. Ensuring compliance with the Solicitors\’ Accounts Rules within the team.
5. Reconciliation of disbursement supplier statements as required.
6. Other duties as may be required by the firm.

About you:

1. Solid experience in working as a legal cashier within a busy law firm.
2. Up-to-date knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules and compliance.
3. Highly proficient IT skills, especially in Excel and legal accounting software.
4. Friendly and approachable, with the confidence and ability to communicate at senior levels and to liaise with all parties both internal and external.
5. Ability to multi-task and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
6. Strong sense of responsibility.
7. High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
8. Related qualification an advantage.
9. Development/testing of legal accounting software an advantage.
