As a Public Affairs and Engagement Officer, you\'ll play a pivotal role in shaping our organization\'s reputation and strategic priorities. Your expertise will drive the development and execution of our Public Affairs and Engagement Service and Strategy, ensuring alignment with our goals and statutory functions.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide specialist advice to relevant business areas, identifying communication and engagement opportunities in line with our Strategic Plan.
  2. Design and deliver public affairs and engagement support services, enhancing our reputation and delivery of strategic priorities.
  3. Assist the Head of Stakeholder Engagement and communications in managing team workstreams and overseeing priority projects.

What We\'re Looking For:

  1. Excellent written and oral communication skills for drafting various documents and facilitating internal and external events.
  2. Proven ability to manage events, including our annual conference and engagements at Westminster and political party conferences.
  3. Effective prioritization skills to manage short and long-term goals.
  4. Highly self-motivated with a drive for goal achievement.
  5. Understanding of current transport and related policy environments, or experience in political, infrastructure, or transport sectors.
  6. Experience conducting or managing research and analysis to enhance business performance.
  7. Ability to quickly grasp and articulate the connections between government policy changes and day-to-day operations.
  8. Experience in political engagement and influencing work.
  9. Familiarity with stakeholder management systems.
  10. Understanding of the UK Parliament and central/local government workings.
  11. Experience with social media and digital campaigning tools.
