Graduate Accounts Assistant

My client is currently looking for a Trainee Graduate in a small practice in the Preston area. This role will be working for a practice that has expanded to multiple offices across Lancashire. This position offers study support for ACCA or ACA after a qualifying period.

The role is full-time, working 37.5 hours per week on a permanent basis. Responsibilities include:

Processing supplier invoices, acting as cover for a second accounts assistant, and addressing any questions or queries raised by colleagues.
Preparing payment runs on the system, obtaining approval, posting payments, and creating the payments list on the banking system for approval.
Raising cheque payments and urgent payments as required, ensuring accurate recording.
Accurately recording payments in the cashbook, with overall responsibility for reconciling the cashbook to the system and bank statements at month-end.
Managing petty cash and its reconciliation.
Completing or assisting with the completion of Balance Sheet reconciliations.
Completing month-end processes for Stock, Debtor, and Creditor accounts.
Preparing and processing month-end journals, including accruals.
Assisting with other month-end and year-end activities as required.

Essential requirements:

Practice experience would be highly advantageous.
