Excellent long-term career development

Opportunity to develop Excel, reporting and analytical skills

This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or someone at the beginning of their career to join a successful engineering and manufacturing business as a Junior Finance Analyst.

You do not need years of experience. What matters is that you enjoy working with numbers, are naturally curious and like understanding why something has happened rather than simply reporting it.

As a Junior Finance Analyst, you will work closely with Finance, Operations, Procurement and Manufacturing, turning business and financial data into clear, meaningful information that helps managers make better decisions.

The Job

As a Junior Finance Analyst, you will:

  • Analyse stock, financial and operational data to identify trends, variances, discrepancies and opportunities for improvement.
  • Extract and manipulate information from finance, ERP and manufacturing systems to produce meaningful reports.
  • Produce weekly management information highlighting important stock movements, values and areas requiring attention.
  • Investigate discrepancies, understand the reasons behind them and work with different departments to resolve issues.
  • Support month-end finance reporting and help maintain accurate stock accounting information.
  • Improve reporting processes and use data to identify ways of improving efficiency and overall business performance.

About You

We are looking for a Junior Finance Analyst who:

  • Has a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Data Analytics, Business or another numerically focused subject.
  • Loves working with numbers and enjoys finding patterns, trends and insights within data.
  • Has good Excel skills and wants to develop their knowledge further; Power BI or ERP experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Is highly organised with strong attention to detail and takes pride in producing accurate work.
  • Is naturally curious, confident investigating something that doesn't look right and enjoys solving problems.
  • Can communicate clearly and enjoys working with people across different areas of a business.

This Junior Finance Analyst opportunity would particularly suit someone who wants more than a traditional junior finance position.

You will gain hands-on experience across finance, stock accounting, data analysis, manufacturing and business performance, while working alongside experienced colleagues.

Most importantly, the business will invest in your development, including the opportunity to undertake company-funded accountancy qualifications, giving you the chance to build an excellent long-term career in finance and analysis.
