THE ROLEKey ResponsibilitiesThe Schools ICT Engineer is a vital role within Agilisys, providing high‐quality, onsite ICT support within a large secondary school in St Helens. You will play a key part in ensuring the smooth operation of day‐to‐day school IT services, supporting staff, students, and visitors, and maintaining a reliable, high‐availability environment. Specific DutiesProvide face‐to‐face and remote support to students, staff, and visitorsLog, manage, and resolve ICT incidents within defined SLAs and KPIsDeliver exceptional customer service at all timesBuild, configure, and deploy end‐user devices for staff and studentsInstall and update applications on user devicesSupport printers, projectors, and other school equipmentComplete administrative tasks including asset management and documentationSupport school events such as open evenings, parents' evenings, and other scheduled activitiesWork collaboratively with other ICT engineers to maintain a reliable, high‐availability environmentTypical working hours are 8:00am – 4:00pm, Monday to Friday, with flexibility required based on school and business needs. You will gain exposure to a wide range of technologies while directly supporting teaching and learning through high‐quality ICT services. ABOUT YOUThe ideal candidate will be driven, customer‐focused, and enthusiastic about delivering high‐quality ICT support within an educational environment, with a strong track record of problem‐solving and delivering results. The Ideal CandidateStrong knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and products (Windows 10/11 and Windows Server)Experience supporting hardware and software, including PCs, laptops, printers, and projectorsUnderstanding of networking fundamentals and troubleshooting in a managed environmentFamiliarity with mixed Apple and Microsoft environments, including basic Apple device supportExperience building, configuring, and deploying end‐user devices across different operating systemsGood understanding of networked printers, including MFD devicesStrong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to support non‐technical usersProven problem‐solving ability with a proactive and organised approachExperience working in an IT support or customer‐focused environment (education experience desirable)Minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grade C/4 or above), including English and Mathematics, a full clean driving licence, and the ability to pass an Enhanced DBS check are required.
