An exciting opportunity for an Assistant Management Accountant has arisen to join a growing business near Ipswich. This is a varied and hands-on position within a supportive finance team, offering the chance to build on your management accounting experience while gaining exposure to key financial reporting and business operations.

Working closely with senior finance colleagues, you will play an important role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting month-end processes, and helping maintain the smooth running of day-to-day finance activities. This role would suit someone currently working as a Senior Finance Assistant, Assistant Accountant, or Assistant Management Accountant who is looking to take the next step in their career.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Post journals, including accruals, prepayments and adjustments
  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies
  • Support weekly and monthly reporting requirements
  • Assist with budgeting activities and variance analysis
  • Monitor cash flow and support forecasting processes
  • Maintain accurate financial records across accounting systems
  • Assist with purchase ledger, sales ledger and credit control activities when required
  • Support payment processing and bank reconciliations

Key Skills:

  • AAT Level 4 qualification or be close to completing it
  • Previous experience supporting management accounts and month-end processes
  • Strong Excel skills and experience using accounting software
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • A proactive and organised approach to work
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
