Agilis Search is seeking a talented and motivated Software Engineer to join an established technology team in Ipswich on a permanent basis. You will be delivering enterprise-scale solutions and will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-performance applications that support critical business operations and digital transformation initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, working in agile environments, and contributing to innovative software solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable Java-based applications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, DevOps, QA, and Architecture
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to best engineering practices
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimise application performance
  • Support the integration of APIs, databases, and third-party systems
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and modernisation initiatives
Required Skills & Experience
  • Strong commercial experience with Java development
  • Experience with frameworks such as Spring Boot or Hibernate
  • Understanding of RESTful APIs and microservices architecture
  • Knowledge of SQL and relational databases
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control tools such as Git
  • Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
Desirable Experience
  • Cloud platform exposure (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Docker/Kubernetes experience
  • Messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ
