The role:
We are seeking a Group Accountant who is looking for that step into industry. This is an excellent opportunity to move from practice into a fast-paced commercial setting, where you’ll play a key role in shaping financial processes and supporting our ambitious growth plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce consolidated monthly financial reporting requirements, including management accounts, investor and banking requirements.
- Lead the year-end process, acting as the key contact for audit and tax advisors.
- Prepare annual consolidated financial statements and single-entity statutory accounts.
- Produce consolidated weekly short-term cashflow forecasts.
- Support the Head of Group Reporting with integration and updates of the finance system.
- Improve and maintain capex reporting, including development spend.
- Develop and maintain monthly overhead reporting and present to department heads.
- Manage and support the Payroll Manager, gaining sufficient understanding of the payroll process to provide cover in exceptional circumstances.
- Deputise for the Head of Group Reporting as and when required.
The skills and experience which we are looking for in a Group Accountant are:
Essential
- ACCA/ICAEW or equivalent qualified or part-qualified (with a clear plan to complete).
- Strong background in practice accountancy, ideally with exposure to multiple clients.
- Audit experience.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Information
Job type: This is a full-time hybrid position, primarily remote with 1–2 days per week at our Sheffield office. Occasional out-of-hours work may be required to meet business needs.
