We are delighted to be supporting a well‑established engineering services business in recruiting a Field Service Engineer to join their growing Central Scotland team. This is an excellent opportunity for an electrically minded engineer who wants to develop long‑term specialist skills, work autonomously in the field, and be supported by a knowledgeable, experienced service team. Full training is provided, making this role ideal for candidates looking to progress into a niche and in‑demand engineering discipline.
The Role
As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, and support of industrial battery and charging systems used across a wide range of customer sites. You will work from home and travel to customer locations across the Edinburgh and Glasgow area, with daily job instructions provided by the service coordination team. Each day will be varied and hands‑on, offering technical challenge, autonomy, and customer interaction.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Servicing and maintaining industrial battery and charging systems
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out planned and reactive repairs
- Performing routine maintenance, inspections, and safety checks
- Completing service reports and documentation following site visits
- Supporting battery change operations at customer sites when required
- Ensuring all work is completed to the highest safety, quality, and compliance standards
No previous battery experience is required — comprehensive training and mentoring will be provided.
