The role is primarily field-based, working at customer sites across Central Scotland. The position operates from home, with daily work instructions issued by the Service Desk at head office in Aberdeen.

Role Overview

The main purpose of this role is to maintain, repair, and replace industrial battery and charger systems installed at customer sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for attending scheduled maintenance visits, performing repairs and replacements, and ensuring all equipment is operating safely and efficiently. Work schedules and call-outs will be coordinated by the Service Desk, and the engineer will be required to complete job sheets and service reports for submission to head office on a regular basis. The role reports to the Service Manager and forms part of the wider Field Service Team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out onsite commissioning and maintenance activities
  • Service, repair, and replace industrial batteries, chargers, and associated equipment
  • Complete job sheets and maintenance reports for submission to head office
  • Provide battery replacement support at customer sites across the UK when required
  • Clean batteries and charging equipment to agreed standards
  • Conduct testing and fault diagnosis on battery and charger systems
  • Safely prepare equipment for transportation where required
  • Undertake any additional duties relevant to the role as required

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong electrical or mechanical knowledge would be advantageous
  • Formal qualifications are not essential as full training will be provided
  • Experience working with forklift trucks or industrial equipment would be beneficial

QHSE Responsibilities

  • Comply with all Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental management systems and procedures
  • Ensure all accidents, incidents, near misses, and hazards are reported promptly
  • Complete relevant documentation in accordance with company procedures
