As this part of our business grows, we are seeking a passionate individual to join our dedicated team in Edinburgh working in our purpose-built refurbishment centre to extend the lifespan of technology and reduce our environmental impact.

What we're looking for…

The Trainee Workshop Refurbishment Operative role is responsible for the refurbishment and maintenance of Multi-Functional Devices (MFDs), including printers, copiers, and scanners. In this role you'll learn how to diagnose faults, repair hardware, and ensure that refurbished units meet the company's quality standards.

What you'll be doing…

  • Diagnostic and Repair: Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in MFDs. Perform repairs on mechanical and electronic components of MFDs. Replace defective parts with new or refurbished ones. Conduct thorough testing to ensure proper functioning post-repair.
  • Refurbishment: Clean and refurbish MFDs to a high standard. Rebuild and reassemble MFD units, ensuring all components are in optimal working condition. Update firmware and software as required.
  • Quality Control: Perform final quality checks on refurbished MFDs. Ensure all refurbished units meet company standards and customer expectations. Maintain accurate records of repairs and refurbishments.
  • Inventory Management: Manage and maintain inventory of spare parts and tools. Order new parts as needed to maintain stock levels. Track usage and report any discrepancies.
  • Health and Safety: Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and regulations. Maintain a clean and safe working environment. Report any hazards or incidents immediately to the Workshop Manager.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Document all work performed on each MFD. Provide detailed reports on completed refurbishments and repairs. Maintain logs of parts used and time spent on each task.
