Overview
In this role you lead a sales team focused on Chromatography, Mass Spectrometry, Spectroscopy, and Laboratory Informatics for Academic and Life Science Research markets. You will set commercial strategies, drive growth, and coordinate cross-functional efforts to strengthen Agilent’s market position. You’ll manage key accounts and strategic opportunities, guiding territory planning, forecasting, and performance to deliver revenue and profit targets. This is a mission-critical leadership position for expanding presence in academia and life science customers, with a strong emphasis on customer-centric solutions and cross-team collaboration.

Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a high-performance sales team to meet objectives
- Drive territory management, pipeline development, forecasting accuracy, and performance reviews
- Create and execute annual business plans to achieve revenue and profitability targets
- Support the team in navigating complex opportunities and strategic accounts
- Ensure resources are aligned with business priorities and sales activities
- Serve as strategic leader for Academic and Life Science Research markets in UK & Ireland
- Develop and execute market growth strategies aligned with commercial objectives
- Identify trends, customer needs, competitive dynamics, and opportunities
- Collaborate with global/regional units to shape portfolio, marketing, and go-to-market strategies
- Champion customer-centric solutions to strengthen market position and long-term growth
- Partner with Marketing, Product Specialists, Applications, Service, and Support Sales to deliver great customer experiences
- Lead strategic initiatives supporting organizational goals and continuous improvement
- Foster cross-functional collaboration to maximize customer value and business performance
Key requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a scientific, technical, or business-related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of sales experience in analytical, laboratory, or instrumentation industries
- Demonstrated leadership via people management or mentoring
- Strong commercial acumen with track record of sales strategy and driving results
- Excellent communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills
- Fluency in English with strong verbal and written communication
