We are currently looking for a LC-MS Application Specialist to join the Application Team in the UK and Ireland. You will be a part of a professional team of Application Specialists in Agilent's Life Sciences and Applied Markets Group. In this position, you will develop innovative analytical workflows, deliver instrument demonstrations and application support to customers for the full portfolio of Agilent's LC-MS products. It is therefore important that you are technically strong, proactive, communicative and a team player.
Responsibilities:
- Address the analytical needs of customers from the UK and Ireland by developing new methods or applying established ones, demonstrating the performance of the Agilent LCMS portfolio (SQ, TQ-MS and HRAM) in the Agilent UK Centre of Excellence.
- Understand customer’s challenges, recommend solutions, and ensure highest customer satisfaction.
- Consulting with clients on technical and workflow needs and requirements, and developing capability to create, propose and implement solutions specific to these workflows.
- Working closely with the local sales team through training sessions and joint client visits to maximize their understanding of, and ability to position products and workflow solutions.
- Communicate and position the results to customers through presentations, seminars, workshops and user meetings.
- Travel to customer sites to present results, implement methods, provide application consulting, and deliver on-site customer training classes.
- Train Agilent sales team about LC-MS technology, the latest instrumentation and LC-MS based solutions.
- Work on customer collaborations using new instrument technologies and methodologies.
- Provide your application and market expertise at every level of the value chain, by working closely with product managers, marketing managers, sales teams, customer support and opinion leaders.
- Work closely together with the sales teams to exceed LC-MS sales targets.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or PhD in Analytical Chemistry or equivalent with a strong focus on small molecule analysis preferable in the Applied Markets.
- Minimum of 4 years relevant experience, with typically 5 to 8 years.
- Internal qualifications can be accepted.
- Knowledge of LC and LCMS technology and its day-to-day changes.
- Motivated self-starter with drive, energy, and enthusiasm to succeed in this exciting and challenging role.
- Excellent presentation, communication and customer facing skills is required.
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge and hands-on experience with LC and LC-MS technology, its operation with focus on applications.
- A demonstrated experience in LC-MS method development and optimization.
- Due to the complementarity of GCMS and LCMS in applied markets analysis, knowledge and hands-on experience of GC-MS is a plus.
- Good team working skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time.

This job has a full time weekly schedule. It includes the option to work remotely. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
