About The Company
Understanding Recruitment is partnering with a large, UK-wide healthcare membership body to appoint a Salesforce Developer. The organisation supports a broad membership community and relies on technology to deliver effective services, strengthen relationships and support its ongoing transformation. The successful candidate will join a team responsible for developing and improving the organisation’s Salesforce capability. You will work with colleagues across technology and the wider business, helping ensure the platform remains secure, reliable and aligned with evolving needs.
About The Role
This is a hands-on engineering role with technical ownership of Salesforce solutions, integrations and platform health. You will design, develop and maintain capabilities across Sales Cloud and Service Cloud, while helping shape the platform’s technical direction as part of a wider technology transformation.
You will work with stakeholders to understand requirements, translate them into robust technical designs and deliver solutions that can scale. The role also includes maintaining existing functionality, resolving technical issues and identifying opportunities to improve performance, security and resilience. It is suited to an experienced Salesforce professional who combines strong development skills with a thoughtful approach to architecture, integration and governance.
Qualifications
- Strong hands-on experience developing and supporting Salesforce in a complex organisation.
- Practical development experience across Salesforce Sales Cloud and Service Cloud.
- Proficiency in Apex, including classes, triggers and SOQL queries.
- Experience designing, implementing or supporting integrations between Salesforce, external APIs and business systems.
- Knowledge of Salesforce platform architecture, security, performance and deployment considerations.
- Ability to assess technical requirements, recommend suitable solutions and communicate decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A collaborative, methodical approach to troubleshooting, documentation and ongoing platform improvement.
- Experience with Nonprofit Cloud or NPSP, Agentforce, Data 360 or Salesforce Marketing Cloud would be advantageous, but is not essential.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test and maintain scalable Salesforce solutions across Sales Cloud and Service Cloud.
- Build, review and govern Apex code, including classes, triggers and SOQL queries, following sound development practices.
- Plan and manage integrations between Salesforce, external APIs and wider organisational systems.
- Take ownership of platform performance, security, resilience and technical architecture.
- Investigate defects and service issues, identify root causes and deliver sustainable fixes.
- Work with business stakeholders to clarify needs, evaluate options and translate requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Contribute to platform standards, technical documentation and development processes.
- Support the continued evolution of Salesforce as part of the organisation’s broader technology transformation.
Benefits
The role offers a salary of £50,000–£54,000 and a hybrid working arrangement based in London. You will have the opportunity to take meaningful technical ownership of a business-critical Salesforce platform, work across a varied and complex environment, and contribute to its ongoing development and improvement. Further details about the organisation’s benefits and working arrangements can be discussed during the recruitment process.
