About The Role

We are currently seeking an experienced Quality Assurance (QA) Automation Engineer to join our client’s dynamic Belfast-based team. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development and delivery of high-quality software solutions within a modern Agile environment. As a QA Automation Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining automation frameworks that enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product owners, and QA specialists, to embed quality practices throughout the software development lifecycle. Your expertise will be pivotal in ensuring that complex software platforms meet the highest standards of reliability, performance, and user satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in QA Automation within Agile or Scrum environments.
• Strong proficiency with automation tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or similar frameworks.
• Programming skills in JavaScript, Typescript, Java, or comparable languages.
• Experience in developing, maintaining, and optimizing automation frameworks.
• Hands‑on experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous delivery.
• Comprehensive understanding of API testing, functional testing, and end-to-end testing processes.
• Familiarity with Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) frameworks such as Cucumber.
• Knowledge of performance and non-functional testing using tools like K6 or JMeter.
• Experience utilizing AI tools such as Copilot or ChatGPT to enhance testing workflows.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of liaising effectively with technical teams and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks to support testing activities.
• Implement and execute automated test scripts to validate software functionality and performance.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring seamless deployment processes.
• Develop comprehensive test plans and strategies aligned with project requirements and quality standards.
• Perform API, functional, and end-to-end testing to identify and document defects.
• Utilize AI-powered tools to optimize testing workflows, improve test coverage, and increase efficiency.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, providing input on testing progress and quality metrics.
• Continuously evaluate and improve testing processes, frameworks, and tools to adapt to evolving project needs.
• Work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into effective test cases and automation scripts.
