About the Role

As a Lead Mobile Developer at Hackajob, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the mobile technology landscape within our organization and for our clients. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high‑quality, scalable, and secure mobile applications that meet diverse business needs. This is a hands‑on leadership position where you will work closely with cross‑functional teams, including product managers, UX/UI designers, and backend developers, to create seamless user experiences. You will serve as a technical mentor to junior and mid‑level engineers, fostering best practices in mobile development and ensuring the delivery of robust solutions.

Your expertise will be instrumental in translating complex business requirements into innovative mobile strategies, guiding projects from conception through deployment, and maintaining high standards of quality and security throughout the development lifecycle. The role offers a unique opportunity to influence the technical direction of mobile projects, contribute to strategic planning, and represent Hackajob’s technical excellence in client interactions and industry forums.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a Lead or Senior Mobile Engineer with a proven track record of delivering complex, consumer‑facing mobile applications.
• Deep hands‑on expertise in native development, specifically with Swift for iOS and Kotlin for Android.
• Strong understanding of their respective SDKs and ecosystems.
• Familiarity with cross‑platform frameworks such as Flutter (Dart) is highly desirable.
• Experience with state management solutions like Bloc, Provider, or Riverpod.
• Solid grasp of modern mobile architecture patterns, including MVVM and Clean Architecture.
• Experience with modularisation and CI/CD pipelines tailored for mobile development, such as Bitrise, Fastlane, or GitHub Actions.
• Knowledge of mobile‑specific integrations, including RESTful APIs, GraphQL, Firebase services, and local data persistence options like Room, CoreData, or SQLite.
• Comprehensive understanding of the mobile release lifecycle, including automated testing (unit, UI, and integration tests) and distribution platforms such as TestFlight or App Center.
• Excellent communication skills, problem‑solving abilities, and a proactive approach to technical leadership.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical design and implementation of mobile solutions across client projects, ensuring applications are robust, performant, and aligned with modern mobile‑first business strategies.
• Define and implement mobile architectural patterns, selecting appropriate native or cross‑platform tools to meet project requirements.
• Mentor and guide engineering teams, fostering a culture of high‑quality code, continuous learning, and best practices in mobile development.
• Collaborate effectively with clients, UX/UI designers, and product teams to understand user challenges and translate these into scalable technical architectures.
• Ensure all mobile solutions adhere to industry standards for security, offline capabilities, accessibility (WCAG), and compliance with app store policies.
• Support the preparation of technical proposals and bids, clearly articulating our approach to mobile‑led digital transformation initiatives.
• Represent Hackajob’s technical expertise in client meetings, workshops, and discovery sessions, demonstrating innovative solutions and strategic thinking.
• Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in mobile development, continuously enhancing the team’s skill set and project outcomes.
