About The Role

We are seeking talented Front End Engineers to join our embedded engineering team in London.

This role offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with a Tier 1 investment bank on modernizing electronic trading applications.

You will be instrumental in replacing legacy Angular and desktop technologies with high-performance React applications that traders worldwide rely on.

The role involves developing mission-critical trading interfaces that process and visualize real-time market data with minimal latency.

You will work on technically demanding projects where milliseconds matter, building responsive, low-latency trading platforms, optimizing browser performance for high-volume streaming data, and contributing to the next generation of front-office trading technology.

This position provides a unique chance to engage with complex distributed systems, messaging technologies, and performance optimization in a fast-paced financial environment.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in front-end development, particularly with React and Type Script, and have a proven track record delivering complex, production-grade applications.

A solid understanding of browser rendering, performance profiling, memory management, and optimization techniques is essential.

Experience consuming real-time streaming data via Web Sockets, RSocket, or similar technologies is required, along with a good grasp of asynchronous programming and responsive UI design principles.

Familiarity with backend Java services, microservices architecture, and collaboration across full technology stacks is highly desirable.

Candidates should also have experience with automated testing frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium, and be comfortable working within Agile development environments.

Knowledge of migration from Angular to React and experience with financial markets or electronic trading platforms are advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-performance React and Type Script applications tailored for electronic trading environments.
  • Create responsive user interfaces supporting pricing, execution, and post-trade workflows to enhance user experience and operational efficiency.
  • Consume and process real-time market data streams using Web Sockets, RSocket, and other messaging technologies, ensuring data integrity and low latency.
  • Optimize browser rendering, memory usage, and application performance, especially for large streaming datasets, to support high-volume trading activities.
  • Develop reusable UI components and shared application frameworks to promote consistency and maintainability across platforms.
  • Lead migration efforts from legacy Angular and Angular JS applications to modern React architecture, ensuring seamless transition and minimal disruption.
  • Collaborate closely with backend Java engineers to deliver integrated end-to-end solutions that meet stringent performance standards.
  • Build automated UI tests utilizing frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium to ensure high-quality releases.
  • Participate in architecture design, code reviews, and the establishment of engineering best practices to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Deploy applications through modern CI/CD pipelines into containerized environments, ensuring reliable and scalable production releases.

Benefits

  • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects within the financial technology sector.
  • Collaborate with a highly motivated, skilled, and dedicated team of professionals.
  • Competitive salary package aligned with industry standards.
  • Flexible working schedule to support work-life balance.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including medical insurance and sports programs.
  • Participation in corporate social events and team-building activities.
  • Access to professional development and continuous learning opportunities.
  • Well-equipped office environment designed to foster productivity and innovation.
  • Equal Opportunity
