About The Role
Marston Holdings is seeking a commercially aware and curious Data Analyst to join its established Data Team at Northern Hub, Sandbrook House, Rochdale. Applicants must be based in or near Rochdale. This role offers the opportunity to turn complex datasets into accurate, engaging reports and practical insight for internal teams and clients. You will work with colleagues and stakeholders to understand their requirements, investigate data, identify patterns and present findings that support informed decisions. Your analysis will help teams understand performance, address operational challenges and identify opportunities for improvement.
You will collaborate with operational managers, service teams and colleagues across the business, adapting your approach to different audiences and changing priorities. Working alongside Analysts, Data Scientists and Data Engineers, you will be able to take ownership of your work, develop your technical capabilities and see how reporting and analysis inform business decisions, operational improvements and client conversations.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with around three years’ experience in a Data Analyst or similar analytical role. You should have experience producing reports, dashboards or analysis that help people understand performance and make decisions. You will be confident working with numbers, interpreting information accurately and explaining findings clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
Advanced Microsoft Excel and Power BI skills are required, together with strong working knowledge of SQL, Power Query, M and DAX. You should bring sound problem‑solving skills, curiosity, a proactive approach to continuous improvement and the confidence to ask questions, investigate issues, challenge assumptions and suggest better ways of working. Flexibility and effective organisation are important as business, operational and client priorities evolve. Experience in enforcement, compliance or another regulated service, familiarity with case management systems or field‑based workforce performance measures, and a degree‑level qualification in mathematics, statistics, economics or a related subject would be advantageous.
Responsibilities
Partner with colleagues and stakeholders to understand data needs and translate requirements into clear, reliable reports and insight. Explore new datasets, assess how information is structured and develop reporting that is accurate, useful and easy to understand. Identify trends, explain what the data reveals and recommend practical actions that can improve business performance.
Work with operational managers and service teams to understand performance challenges, determine where analysis can add value and support plans to address identified needs. Present findings confidently to a range of audiences, from operational colleagues to senior leaders. Build your knowledge of important operational, financial and performance measures. Identify opportunities to automate reporting and improve efficiency, working collaboratively to put appropriate solutions in place. Manage your workload and projects effectively, seeking support from senior colleagues when deadlines are tight or priorities change.
Benefits
The role provides the opportunity to join an established, multidisciplinary Data Team and contribute to work with visible business impact. Benefits include 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, a pension scheme, a Health Cash Back Plan and staff benefits covering discounts on high-street and online shopping, travel, socialising and wellbeing. Enhanced maternity and paternity packages are available, subject to eligibility criteria.
Successful candidates will be subject to Disclosure and Barring Service clearance and a County Court Judgment check. The post holder is also expected to keep the company informed if their personal circumstances change.
Equal Opportunity
Marston Holdings is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from all suitably qualified candidates. Recruitment and development decisions are based on merit and a shared commitment to creating better outcomes. The organisation is committed to an inclusive workplace and considers applicants regardless of gender identity or expression, ethnic origin, nationality, religion or belief, age, sexual orientation, disability status or any other protected characteristic.
