About The Company

Vivo Talent is partnering with a rapidly growing organisation that is investing in the modernisation of its cloud platform. Following significant growth over the past nine months, the organisation is strengthening its engineering capability and evolving how it builds, manages and operates critical infrastructure. This is an opportunity to contribute to meaningful platform improvements while supporting broader cloud adoption across the business.

The organisation is looking for an experienced cloud professional who can combine hands‑on technical delivery with sound engineering practices. The successful candidate will help create reliable, scalable and maintainable cloud environments, working collaboratively with colleagues to improve infrastructure, deployment processes and operational workflows.

About The Role

As Senior Cloud Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, implementing and optimising Microsoft Azure infrastructure. You will help re‑platform and re‑provision critical services, support cloud migration initiatives and make effective use of automation, DevOps practices and Infrastructure as Code.

This is a hands‑on engineering position for someone who enjoys solving practical technical challenges and improving how cloud platforms are delivered and maintained. You will contribute to the development of Azure DevOps pipelines, infrastructure automation and containerisation approaches, helping the organisation establish consistent and repeatable ways of working.

The role is permanent and based in Cardiff, with a hybrid working arrangement. You will work with stakeholders and technical colleagues to understand requirements, deliver improvements and support the modernisation of the organisation’s cloud environment.

Qualifications

Applicants should bring strong practical experience designing, building or supporting cloud environments, with a particular focus on Microsoft Azure. You should be confident working with Azure DevOps and developing or maintaining CI/CD pipelines that support reliable, repeatable delivery.

Experience with Infrastructure as Code is essential, particularly using Bicep and/or Terraform. You will also need experience with containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, together with strong automation and scripting skills. A methodical approach to troubleshooting, an interest in platform improvement and the ability to communicate technical information clearly will be important in this role.

Relevant professional experience is valued. The organisation is seeking someone able to apply their technical knowledge to real-world infrastructure challenges, collaborate effectively and take ownership of work through to delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement and optimise secure, reliable and scalable infrastructure within Microsoft Azure.
  • Contribute to cloud migration, re‑platforming and re‑provisioning initiatives for critical infrastructure.
  • Build, maintain and improve Infrastructure as Code using Bicep and/or Terraform.
  • Develop and enhance Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines to support efficient, consistent deployments.
  • Support containerisation strategies and workloads using Docker and Kubernetes technologies.
  • Automate deployment processes and operational workflows, reducing manual effort where practical.
  • Investigate technical issues, identify opportunities for improvement and help maintain effective cloud operations.
  • Work with colleagues and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver maintainable engineering solutions.
  • Promote good DevOps practices, clear documentation and a considered approach to infrastructure change.

Benefits

This permanent, hybrid opportunity offers the chance to take a meaningful role in a growing organisation’s cloud modernisation programme. You will work hands‑on with Azure, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD and container technologies while contributing to improvements that support critical services. The position provides scope to apply your expertise, help shape cloud engineering practices and collaborate with colleagues on impactful technical work. Further details about the salary and benefits package can be discussed during the recruitment process.

Equal Opportunity

Vivo Talent welcomes applications from candidates with a range of backgrounds and experiences. Applicants will be considered fairly on their skills, experience and suitability for the role. We are committed to an inclusive recruitment process and encourage candidates who meet the requirements to apply.
