Job Purpose
To manage the safe and successful delivery of soil mixing works on the Lower Thames Crossing project, ensuring performance, quality, safety, and commercial outcomes are achieved within a major infrastructure alliance environment.
Main Responsibilities
- Coordinate construction activities and ensure delivery of works to the highest standards of safety, quality, programme and budget.
- Determine and manage project priorities to ensure effective allocation of resources and successful project delivery.
- Regularly review productivity, quality and commercial performance, monitoring project progress, deliverables and client satisfaction.
- Participate in the resolution of technical issues during design, technical meetings and the construction phase.
- Ensure a safe working environment is maintained for all personnel at all times.
- Uphold company professional standards and ensure compliance with budget targets, service quality, company reputation, health and safety, environmental and regulatory requirements.
- Provide leadership, direction and training to site and project teams, ensuring effective engagement and utilisation of skills to drive operational efficiency and quality.
- Plan, manage and control soil mixing operations, including methodology, sequencing, production rates and interfaces with adjacent ground engineering and civil works.
- Oversee mix design development, trials, quality control processes and performance verification for soil mixing works.
- Manage and coordinate specialist plant, equipment and subcontractors associated with soil mixing activities.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, employer's requirements and relevant UK standards for deep soil mixing and ground improvement.
- Lead risk management activities related to soil mixing works, including ground conditions, productivity, quality and environmental constraints.
- Interface closely with designers, technical centres and client representatives on soil mixing design, constructability and performance matters.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering.
- Proven experience delivering soil mixing / deep ground improvement works on major infrastructure projects.
- Strong experience managing specialist subcontractors and heavy plant.
- Experience working in complex, high-risk environments.
