Salary Details
- Scale ALS1-ALS4 (currently £26,386 - £31,139 pro rata) – without teaching qualification
- MG1 - UP1 (currently £33,596 - £48,288 pro rata) – with teaching qualification
- Opportunity to progress onto a further scale UP2-UP3 (currently £50,079 - £51,932 pro rata)
Contract Type
- 0.8 FTE – permanent
- Equivalent to approximately 30 working hours per week / 668 annual teaching hours
Qualifications
- You will hold a relevant qualification, minimum Level 4; however, it is highly desirable to hold a qualification at degree level.
- Ideally hold a recognised Teaching Qualification (e.g. PGCE or other teaching equivalent).
- If you do not hold a recognised teaching qualification (such as PGCE), you will be required to undertake and achieve PGCE within a specified timescale.
Experience
- You will have experience of working within an agriculture environment and it is highly desirable to have previous teaching experience or delivery/knowledge of this subject.
- You will be working across two levels delivering City and Guilds Level 2 Agriculture Diploma and City and Guilds Level 3 Extended Diploma.
- You will be required to teach a range of subjects depending on your expertise and knowledge.
- Course units include Introduction to Farm Animal Production, Providing Estates Maintenance, Business Management in the Land-based sector and Managing Agricultural Environments.
- Learners receive a learning experience centred around practical activities and the underpinning knowledge, skills and attitudes preparing them for working in the agricultural industry or progressing to higher education.
This position is based at the College's Centre for Land based Learning at Withybush, Haverfordwest and frequent travel to the College's main campus in Merlin's Bridge may be required.
