About our Nursery
Cherubs Longdale is a modern, rural 90‑place nursery in Ravenshead, Nottingham. Being a car driver is essential to be part of this established and long‑serving team. Set in just under an acre of beautiful Nottinghamshire countryside, with some bus links.

What you’ll be doing
- Share simple, engaging explanations with children about plants, seasons, wildlife and food growing.
- Communicate clearly with leaders about garden needs, seasonal priorities and any maintenance concerns.
- Support outdoor activity set‑ups, including preparing spaces for learning, exploration and events.
- Plan garden activities with longevity and sustainability in mind.
- Carry out light gardening and grounds maintenance, including:
- Pruning and plant care
- Lawn mowing and edging
- Rubbish and leaf collection
- General tidying and upkeep of outdoor areas
- Identify opportunities to improve outdoor spaces to better support learning and engagement.
- Use sustainable, environmentally conscious gardening practices wherever possible.
- Suggest seasonal ideas for planting, growing and outdoor activities that align with nursery learning themes.
- Ensure tools, equipment and outdoor areas are stored and maintained safely.
- Always follow health and safety guidance, particularly when working around children.
- Maintain safe, well‑presented outdoor spaces that support children’s play, learning and wellbeing.
- Support children to take part in gardening and growing activities, helping them understand planting, harvesting and caring for living things.
- Where possible, align this learning with our Forest School approach.
- Encourage curiosity, responsibility and pride in shared outdoor spaces.
- Model calm, respectful and nurturing interactions when working alongside children outdoors.
