We are looking for a talented individual with relevant experience and knowledge of the horticulture industry to provide instruction and lecturing to our adult learners and Further Education students. You will be required to teach subjects such as plant science, planting practice, plant care and other horticulture related subjects at the required RHS standard. You will also teach horticulture and related topics to adult learners and Further Education students on full-time, part-time, apprenticeships and short courses through lectures and practical sessions. The successful candidate will contribute to the management, assessment and recruitment of students as well as having input into curriculum development.
Responsibilities
- Deliver lectures and practical sessions on plant science, planting practice, plant care, and other horticulture related subjects.
- Provide assessment and support to students across full-time, part-time, apprentice and short-course programmes.
- Help manage student recruitment, assessment and retention.
- Contribute to curriculum development and delivery improvement.
Qualifications
- Level 2 GCSE English and Maths or equivalent.
- Vocational qualification at NVQ level 4 or equivalent.
- Appropriate endorsed teaching qualification (or commence studies within 1 year of employment).
- Extensive industry relevance within horticulture and a strong understanding of RHS standards and practice.
- Willingness and capacity to work towards the assessor and internal verifier qualifications.
