About this Role
We are seeking to appoint a compassionate, dedicated, and highly organised Pastoral Support Manager to support the wellbeing and behaviour of pupils and their families. This role is central to the school's safeguarding provision and to the promotion of excellent attendance and punctuality, ensuring pupils have the best opportunity to succeed.
Key Responsibilities
- Designate and lead safeguarding within the school.
- Manage effective communication with all staff, children and families regarding identified pupils.
- Apply Birmingham's Support First Attendance Framework.
- Manage the school’s "Early Help" intervention programme for attendance and pupil wellbeing, including writing to and meeting with parents when concerns arise.
- Act as the focal point of contact between various agencies where a multiple‑agency approach is required.
- Hold daily drop‑in sessions for pupils, providing support and/or counselling to individuals and groups as needed.
- Manage and lead a team of learning mentors and support the senior leadership team.
Qualifications and Experience
The successful candidate will have experience working with families and external agencies to support young people and developing relevant interventions.

Requirements
- Fluency in English – a requirement for this role, in line with Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016).
- Subject to satisfactory references, an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, medical check, evidence of qualifications, and verification of the right to work in the UK.
- All applicants must be able to provide two suitable references.
