We're looking for an Associate - Agriculture/ Rural & Estates to join our growing Agriculture/Rural and Estates team, advising a diverse range of clients across a broad spectrum of rural property and agricultural matters.
As an Associate - Agriculture/Rural and Estates, you'll work within a consistently growing team that advises landed estates, farmers, rural landowners, institutional and charitable landowners, and agricultural businesses. Working alongside Legal 500 and Chambers recognised leading lawyers, you'll have the opportunity to develop your expertise across the full range of rural and estates work, including agricultural tenancies, rural land sales and acquisitions, estate management, renewable energy projects, environmental stewardship schemes, and disposals of land for development. This role can be based across our Birmingham, Exeter, Manchester and Nottingham offices.
What you'll be doing:
- Providing advice on time and to a high standard of technical competence across a broad range of rural property and agricultural matters, including agricultural tenancies, rural land transactions, estate management, and diversification projects, whilst delivering exceptional client service.
- Actively and enthusiastically undertaking business development and marketing within the rural and agricultural sector, including seeking out and attending networking events, agricultural shows, and industry forums.
- Assisting senior members of the team with more complex projects and transactions, and undertaking legal research both as requested and on your own initiative.
What we're looking for:
- The ability to provide clear, concise, and commercially relevant advice and solutions on rural property and agricultural matters, combined with excellent legal drafting skills.
- An effective communicator and negotiator, able to establish and maintain professional relationships with clients and colleagues, with a genuine interest in the rural sector and a track record of - or appetite for - involvement in business development and building client relationships.
- A team player with high levels of personal commitment and initiative, good organisational skills, attention to detail tempered by a commercial approach, and a proven track record of achieving targets.
