Do you have a track record of working in the farming, land management and nature conservation sector? Do you have experience of building trusting relationships and project management? Are you ready to use your experience to conserve and enhance the North Devon Coast National Landscape?
We are looking for an experienced, committed and enthusiastic person to support farmers, landowners and land managers to shape the future of the North Devon Coast National Landscape, a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).
As a key member of a small, multi-disciplinary team, your role will prioritise the delivery of the Farming in Protected Landscapes programme (FiPL). With a working knowledge of farming and land management, you will use your strong engagement and communication skills to provide advice and guidance to applicants to develop, deliver and monitor impactful Nature, Climate, People and Place projects on farms across the North Devon Coast National Landscape.
You will work closely with the North Devon Coast National Landscape team and the FiPL Local Assessment Panel to deliver the FiPL programme, including the administration of panel meetings, scoring and assessing applications, and monitoring and reporting of project delivery.
The North Devon Coast National Landscape is one of 34 nationally designated landscapes in England that together with National Parks form the Protected Landscapes network that covers around 26% of England. Protected Landscapes are increasingly involved in delivering on national priorities to enhance landscape, recover nature, build climate resilience and improve public access to the coast and countryside.
The post is mainly office based with some home working and the post-holder should also be able to make frequent site visits across the whole North Devon coastline and attend events outside of normal office hours. Given the remote nature of sites, the post holder will need to be able to drive to be able to meet the requirements of the role.
The role is part-time (0.6 FTE) and fixed term until March 2029 with a possibility of extension, subject to funding.
